Hello Chasers, Welcome to the first day of Summer and the countdown towards the big day of celebration that we all look forward to at the tend of the year – Christmas Day. Every day this…
Happy New Year, our team at Ceebeks are looking forward to helping you achieve greater things and enjoy a successful 2025!
With the start of the new year it is time for a reset of the plans and goals you want to achieve.
The cornerstone of effective goal setting is the SMART framework. This acronym ensures your goals are:
- Specific: Clearly define what you want to achieve. Avoid vague statements.
- Measurable: Establish criteria to track your progress. Use metrics and numbers.
- Achievable: Set realistic goals that are within your reach. Consider your resources and limitations.
- Relevant: Ensure your goals align with your overall objectives and values.
- Time-bound: Set a deadline for achieving your goals. This creates a sense of urgency
Setting achievable goals for the new year, whether personal or business-related, requires a structured approach. Here’s a breakdown of how to set yourself up for success:
We all should set goals for ourselves in our personal and business lives to enjoy a more fulfilling life.
Think about all the bits of your personal life:
- Health and Fitness:
- Instead of “get fit,” try “walk the dog for 30 minutes, three times a week” or “drop a kilo a week for the next ten weeks.”
- Personal Growth:
- Instead of “learn something new,” aim to “finish that online coding course by winter.”
- Family and Mates:
- Instead of “spend more time with the family,” plan “a barbie every Sunday” or “a weekend camping trip every couple of months.”
- Money Matters:
- Instead of “save some cash,” aim to “transfer $200 a month into a separate account.”
Link your business goals to your overall strategy and focus on the important stuff:
- Making Money:
- Instead of “boost profits,” aim to “increase sales by 15% this financial year.”
- Customers – Keep ’em Coming Back:
- Instead of “get more customers,” aim to “sign up 100 new customers a month” or “keep 10% more of the ones we’ve already got.”
- Running Smoothly:
- Instead of “improve things,” aim to “cut production costs by 5% by streamlining the process.”
- Looking After the Team:
- Instead of “make the team better,” plan to “run two training sessions a quarter for everyone.”
Chop it Up – Don’t Get Bogged Down
Big goals can be a bit overwhelming. Break ’em down into smaller, easier bits. Makes it less daunting and gives you a clear plan. We use a 90-day Action Plan to break the yearly goals down to each quarter.
Write it Down, Keep Track – No Excuses
Writing your goals down makes ’em real. Use Post It notes in bright colours and stick them on your bathroom mirror or above your computer at work so that they “are always in your face!” Keep an eye on your progress – weekly or monthly. Keeps you motivated and lets you make changes if needed.
Be Flexible – Things Change, $%!* Happens!
Curve balls in life always happen. Be ready to change your goals if you have to. The main thing is to keep your eye on the prize while being adaptable.
Give Yourself a Pat on the Back – You Deserve It
Don’t forget to celebrate your wins, big or small. It reinforces good habits and keeps you going.
