A Real Beekeeper At Last!

Hello Chasers,

Today I took the first steps at being a real beekeeper as I put the learning and guidance from the past 15 months under the mentorship of Dr Anna Carrucan and the Hive Buddy group into practice.

The day started out quite ominous with dark cloud cover and showers.

However, at 1:00pm (the time my mentor would arrive) as if by divine intervention the clouds disappeared and bright warm sunshine greeted us.

We donned our protective gear, lit the smoker filled with dried lavender flowers and husks and prepared to inspect the progress of the Nuc before deciding whether to transfer them.
